The BPW801013 Mineral Release Filter are made from Granular Coconut Carbon. This filter is added on as a sixth stage to the reverse osmosis, where the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids parts per million) is being brought down too low. When this is added to the system minerals are reintroduced to the water to bring the TDS level up.
